Hangry

Lesson Overview

This beautiful illustration was drawn by The English Student. (You should have a look at her website, it looks amazing AND it’s full of great grammar and vocabulary tips that are so pretty you can hang them on your wall at home!!). I’ll share some more with you soon, but HANGRY is my favourite word of all time… So let’s practice!

The word ‘hangry’ is quite a new word (people only started using it recently) and it is super popular at the moment. It is a combination of two words, HUNGRY and ANGRY and it describes the state of being angry because you are hungry!

For example:

  • I’m sorry for yelling at you, I’m just hangry. I haven’t eaten lunch yet!
  • Tom’s hangry – I need to make him a snack before we go or he’ll drive us crazy!

If you love food as much as I do then I’m sure you have had this feeling before! Have you ever felt hangry?
