All good things must come to an end.

This is a proverb that means nothing lasts forever. All things and situations are temporary.

It can be used to express regret when something that brings you happiness ends, like if you are at the end of a glorious holiday where you’ve been relaxing on a beach in Thailand for a whole week but you’re about to leave and go back to your regular life.

Well then you can say:

“Well, all good things must come to an end.”

But in my case, I’m using this proverb to refer to my wonderful YouTube channel. It has been an incredible place of growth and opportunity, and I hope that you’ve gained a lot from it too and you’ve enjoyed learning with me here, but all good things must come to an end.

If you have a few spare minutes to spend with me now, I’ll fill you in.

I’ve decided to step away from mmmEnglish. That means I’m not going to produce any more English lessons here on the mmmEnglish YouTube channel. I won’t say that I will never create lessons here, but I am stepping away for the foreseeable future and this has been a really, really tough decision, something that has been on my mind and in my thoughts for the last twelve months, and the reason why it’s been a tough decision is mostly because I feel like I’m letting you down, but I’m here telling you this today because I love and respect you so much and because I really know that this is the right decision for me.

I’m so proud of what I’ve created at mmmEnglish and of how many of you have been watching and benefiting from my lessons and I hope you’ll continue to benefit from them as well long into the future.

I am so grateful for my journey here at mmmEnglish. It has been such a humbling experience. There have been amazing opportunities that have come through this channel. I’ve met some really cool people, some talented creators, and phenomenal students. It has been a real privilege to teach you, to share what I know, and to be with you on your English journey over the last eight years. But all good things must come to an end.

Well, it’s not really an end. All of these lessons, everything that I have created here will remain here always. You can always come back to this channel and find your favourite English lessons. You can explore my free resources and my lesson library over at mmmEnglish too. You can enrol in English courses there as well, especially if you want to keep learning and practising with me. You can!

So it is the end of a chapter, but that means starting a new one, right? So where to from here?

I am going all in on Hey Lady! I’m going to double down on our mission to ensure that my diverse female voices are heard in English. If you haven’t heard me talking about Hey Lady! before we are building our own custom software platform that allows women around the world to connect, learn, share and grow through English.

Hey Lady! is about learning and practicing your spoken English but it’s also about exploring and reaching your fullest potential. Women who come into the Hey Lady! ecosystem develop confidence in English, but they will also become more assertive, more diplomatic, and more independent English speakers who learn to project their voices in English and become powerful communicators.

So if this sounds intriguing or exciting to you or perhaps you’re just absolutely lovely and you want to continue to support me in what I’m doing, I would love to invite you to continue that journey with me. Come and subscribe to the Hey Lady! YouTube channel. This is where I’m going to be making content from now on. The videos we create there will be sharing English advice, conversation skills, teaching professional communication skills but we’ll also be interviewing our members, hearing different perspectives, experiencing different English accents, and importantly empowering more diverse female voices to be heard online.

Find us on Facebook and Instagram; you can follow Hey Lady! there for all of the pretty things and the member stories that will inspire you to keep working towards your English goals.

At Hey Lady!, our mission is to create one billion sparks. One billion meaningful conversations between women of different cultures. If this excites you, come and subscribe. Show your support.
